Era Chapter VI: Bonds

     “Well that makes sense, now what do you know about that building you guys live in? Has it always been there?” Beatrix proceed with the questions while sitting atop Sarge, resting her back on his antenna, not feeling really comfortable. Her mane was way down Sarge’s back and her legs positioned so as to not block the sight of his main eye.

     “This will sound weird, but, the base was built by the Próceres. Before you ask I’m not talking about the same Próceres like us. You could refer them as the Original Próceres, an organization that researched about the mysteries in our world. The Original Próceres weren't well known since they kept their projects in secret, it’s the reason why the base and the building were built in the Region’s Wasteland”

     Beatrix was astonished. She couldn't believe that she didn't know any of this already, yet she was glad of learning, so the questions kept coming for Sarge.

     “There were other Próceres before us eh? So wait! That building the Miserables own, was built by the Original Próceres too!?”

     “Exactly, Geo took it over after the disaster, then established a group there and founded the Miserables. Eve did the same using our base, but re-founded the Próceres and established all of us with her.”

     “So, none of you is an Original Prócer? W-what happened to them?” Beatrix asked, muttering at the last question, already assuming the answer.   

     “We believe they all turned into Enerves, or died.”

     Beatrix was silent for a bit, the answer was obvious but thinking in how so many lives were taken by this apocalypse made her go in a depressive mood every time.

     “You got to know any of the Original Próceres?” Beatrix responded.

     “Not at all, the existence of these guys used to be a rumor back then in the Pokécops unite. No trail of them was ever found. All we got to know is that their founder was called Bradley, we don’t even know what Pokémon species he was.” Sarge said while scanning their surroundings, no threats were in their way. Beatrix nodded in satisfaction at hearing him.

     “Thank ya, now I feel like I’m up to date with things. Oh but can I ask you one more thing?” Beatrix asked while both of them were almost making to the end of the path.

     “Sure, what is it?” Sarge was quite happy, it wasn't normally his job to provide information, but he was feeling helpful.

     “Can I get off of you now? This is awkward, and I told you that I can walk by myself” Beatrix looked down at the Magnezone with a worried expression.

     “B-but, you walk a lot already to come to our base. Also last time we carried you, we had you attached to us, by effect of implanting magnetic properties into your body with our Enermove. That was rude on our part.”

     “Oh, well, whatever.” Beatrix muttered, now finally understanding how she got dragged by Sarge’s attack that time they battled. “Let’s not forget why we are here, we must be careful of that crazy Breloom.”

     After a minute they finally reached to the place where the events took place. Beatrix saw the cave Jackie described to them and some dry dark blood on some grass nearby. There wasn’t doubt this was the place where that tragic event took place.

     “Stay alert Sargy.” Beatrix had given him a nickname, signal of a bond growing between them. She then finally got off from Sarge and began to patrol the area, ready to battle. Sarge looked at his surroundings and checked the cliff area, being careful to not fall off.

     “Why did you call us like that? That is not the name of our rank” Sarge suddenly complained.

     “It’s just a nickname. You know, I don’t always nickname others but w-” Beatrix stopped explained, in the moment she saw a figure jumping from a tree towards them. It was the Breloom from before.

     “Mega Seed Bomb!” Vic quickly landed his dangerous attack on Sarge, causing the immediate explosion. It was too late for them to act.

     “SHIT, NO!” Beatrix shouted, and then tried to get closer and help out her fallen partner, but there was a cloud of red spores blocking the way.

     The spores dissipated eventually and she could see Sarge now. He was barely conscious and not floating like usual. Sarge looked epileptic. His magnets were spinning crazy, and struggled to move.

     “Bzzt, bzzt, bzzt!” He said repeatedly and his side eyes blinked nonstop. He was paralyzed, his steel typing saved him from getting really wounded, he still be under a severe status condition though.

     In the moment Beatrix approached to help him out, she noticed Vic was there next to him, looking down at the Magnezone, plotting what to do next.

     “Your insistence is disgusting” Vic mumbled angrily before swinging his tail and hitting Sarge, pushing him off the cliff.

     “SARGY! NO!” Beatrix ran toward the edge of the cliff quickly, almost as if she were going to jump off to save him. But before she could even reach, the Breloom stopped her using one of his arms. Beatrix turned to him to see his face and right in that moment, the Breloom punched her away with a Mach Punch move to the face. This time he didn’t wanted to depend on eye tricks like what happened with Jackie, even when Beatrix couldn’t really do such thing.

     Beatrix was sent flying close to a path of grass, where she regained her footing and stood up. A trail of blood came out of her nose, she didn’t pay attention to it and glared at the crazy Breloom next to the cliff, now he was waiting for Beatrix to make her move, hence his cocky face.

     After rubbing her face, Beatrix jumped and made a backflip, landing in the tall grass, then instantly getting out of sight of the Breloom. In a desperate situation, she used her Illusion ability to take the form of tall grass and hide flawlessly.

     “No… the same shit that happened to Ryan, just happened to Sarge. What to do now!? I’m at a terrible disadvantage...” she thought while her heart raced at high speed. Vic then walked into the tall grass, using his arms as kukris to get the huge leaves out of his way, searching for Beatrix.

     Meanwhile at the Próceres base. Ryan, who was unconscious, suddenly sneezed loudly and regained conscience. Waking up finally and startling everyone around him.

     “Uh…? We’re not in the forest anymore?" asked the now awake Aerodactyl before shouting to his Serperior partner " JACKIE, LET’S GO!”

The 6th chapter already of Era, I've had this done since so many weeks ago, but the Pokémon X/Y hype and my new job been having me totally distracted. Hopefully the next one won't take too long since it's mostly done.

Sarge and Beatrix are assigned by Eve to go to the forest to find Vic, the Breloom that attacked their teammate Ryan. And  then extract a possible elixir loot that the Breloom apparently has.
